This Privacy Policy explains what information Kaptions ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to your use of the Kaptions website and app (the "Service"), operated by Bhailog Digital.

2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Service — authenticate your account, store and process your videos, generate captions, and save your projects.
- To process payments and manage your subscription.
- To enforce plan usage limits (e.g. tracking videos/minutes used per month).
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, or support requests.
- To maintain the security and reliability of the Service.
We do not sell your personal information or your video content to third parties.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following third parties to operate Kaptions. Each processes a limited slice of your data solely to provide their respective service to us:
- OpenAI — receives audio extracted from your uploaded videos to generate transcripts (Whisper API). Subject to OpenAI's own data handling terms.
- Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and video file storage.
- Stripe — processes payments and stores billing/payment method details; we do not store your full card number ourselves.
- Render — hosts our application server.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your videos are stored in a private storage bucket and are only accessible via authenticated, time-limited links generated for your own account — they are not publicly accessible. We use industry-standard practices (encrypted connections, access controls) to protect your data, though no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information and video content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a project, the associated video is removed from our storage. If you delete your account, we will delete your associated data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain certain records (e.g. billing history) for legal or accounting purposes.
6. Your Choices
- You can delete individual projects/videos at any time from within the app.
- You can cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting support@getkaptions.com.
7. Cookies
We use minimal, functional cookies/local storage necessary to keep you signed in and remember your session. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
8. Children's Privacy
Kaptions is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you (for example, via email or an in-app notice).
